Allama | Warm Vanilla & Oud
Certainly one of our most beloved perfumes, Allama is a unique combination of the two best agarwood (oud) scents: Indian and Cambodian. Earthy woody notes are combined with sweet vanilla and saffron to cultivate a memorable unisex blend. The result is like the cashmere crewneck sweater of fragrances - comfortable but with a hint of luxury, warm yet refined.
Named after Muhammad Iqbal, one of the greatest South Asian Muslim writers who is often regarded as the Poet-philosopher of the East. He was given the title of Allama, an honorific bestowed upon knowledgeable and accomplished scholars. Iqbal composed works in both Persian and Urdu. His writing reflected on religious teachings, and the political and social issues of his time. King George V decorated him with knighthood and he was called Sir Mohammad Iqbal thereafter.
"Who would wait for me anxiously in my native place?
Who would display restlessness if my letter fails to arrive?
I will visit thy grave with this complaint:
Who will now think of me in midnight prayers?
All thy life thy love served me with devotion—
When I became fit to serve thee, thou hast departed."
-Allama Muhammad Iqbal
